Greg Kinsey Bio + About Greg Kinsey -
Greg Kinsey is a global leader in the digital transformation of manufacturing. At Hitachi, he is exploring the future of manufacturing and the digitalisation of production systems. Greg has 30 years of experience in industry, technology, and consulting. He led business transformation in senior executive roles at Siemens, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Celerant Consulting. During the 1990s Greg was a pioneer in the Six Sigma and Operational Excellence movement. He previously led the manufacturing platform business at Digital Equipment Corporation, creating the forerunner of today’s IoT platforms. Greg earned his MBA at Georgetown University, and BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.

Deirdre Hynes - Global Performance Improvement Leader, Molex, Ireland I Connectors & Interconnect Components
What does Operational Excellence mean for an electronics company that’s been around for 80 years, and has locations all around the world? In this presentation you will hear of the evolution of Operational Excellence in Molex.

With a starting point of TQM, followed by Global Lean Six Sigma and then to Operational Excellence, find out the key elements of the Molex journey. Molex will share the lessons learned that have been critical to the success, what remains as key factors in their approach.

More importantly, what have been the challenges and how they have been addressed, how plans need to be adapted, and how there is no "one size fits all" approach when it comes to problem solving.

Deirdre Hynes Bio + About Deirdre Hynes -
Deirdre Hynes is a Global Master Blackbelt at Molex. She graduated from Cork's Institute of Technology with a B. Sc. in Applied Physics & Instrumentation. Certified as a Six Sigma Blackbelt in 2001, and as a Master Blackbelt in 2011, she has been involved in Molex's Continuous Improvement journey over the last 17 years. She is familiar with all aspects of the business through leadership of a variety of global projects, including Product Transfers, COPQ reduction and introduction of Value Stream management. From her tenure as site Quality Manager, she also has hands on operational experience along with a knowledge of system requirements, including Medical & Automotive. She is currently part of Molex's Global Operational Excellence team where she is involved in the Value Stream Transformation program, supporting the training, coaching, and deployments across multiple divisions.

Colin Noone - Master Black Belt, Methods & Capability, Rolls-Royce plc | Engineering - Power Solutions
"Rolls-Royce have been on a continuous improvement journey since it started back in 1904. Over that time, we have partnered with numerous organisations that have helped us to become arguably one of the best known global engineering brands.

Part of our improvement journey is our current Lean Six Sigma programme which has been running since 2002. It has grown from an initial 'trial' to a global continuous improvement programme with thousands of employees being trained and actively encouraged to use a wealth of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques.

This has delivered significant benefits for our organisation. Minitab are a strategic partner and key enabler for this improvement activity and there have been some 'interesting' challenges along the way."

Colin Noone Bio + About Colin Noone -
Since starting with Rolls-Royce back in 1977 as a technical apprentice, Colin has always had a passion for learning, improvement and “making a difference”. His lengthy career with the Company has helped him build a wealth of knowledge and experience that has taken him all over the world helping both Rolls-Royce and many of its suppliers solve complex problems and implement significant improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery performance. Certified as a Global Master Black Belt in 2009, Colin is the Company process owner for several key products including Minitab. Working in the central Business Improvement team, Colin manages the Global accreditation programme for the Company Green, Black and Master Black Belts, 8D Practitioners and 8D coaches. Colin is an Alumni Fellow at Nottingham Trent University and his motto is “You know you have had a good day when you learn something new”.

Throughout her career, Gillian has been applying statistical analysis to guide informed management decisions on business opportunities or problems. Today she delivers technical training and consultancy for Minitab customers across the world. For many years Gillian specialised in Financial Services both in UK and Europe, focusing on the development and use of statistical analyses for the improvement of credit risk decisions. Gillian is an active member of the Operational Research (OR) Society, assisting them to promote OR, as the discipline of applying the right analytical methods to help organisations make better decisions via membership of their General Council and supporting their regional events. Gillian has a Masters Degree in Probability and Statistics from Sheffield University.
