Getting the Most out of Your Data with Minitab: A Hands-on Workshop

In this full-day course you will learn to minimize the time required for data analysis by using Minitab to import data, develop sound statistical approaches to exploring data, create and interpret compelling graphs, and export results. Hosted by Nick Jones, Minitab’s Technical Training Specialist from the United Kingdom, you will get hands-on experience in analyzing a variety of real world data sets to learn how to align your applications with the right statistical tool, and interpret statistical output to reveal problems with a process or evidence of an improvement. Learn the fundamentals of important statistical concepts, such as hypothesis testing and confidence intervals, and how to uncover and describe relationships between variables with statistical modeling tools. Also get tips and tricks of the latest release of Minitab 19 to help you get the most out of your data analysis process.

Dr Rey Fremista Bio + About Dr Rey Fremista -
A recipient of an international award from the Asia Pacific Quality Organization in 2017 and of the prestigious national quality award in 2015, Dr. Rey B. Fremista led the Process & Organizational Excellence space of various international companies, overseeing global teams such as Data Science & Analytics, Process Technology & Innovation, Global Reporting, and Operational Excellence. He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and in Breakthrough Learning and Strategies for Training. Rey was a Part-time Faculty member of the National University of the Philippines, where he taught TQM, Business Statistics, and Strategic Management. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Institution Singapore in Business Administration and in Research and an Honorary Member of the Professional Certification of Quality Council for Operations Management of the Singapore Institute of Multidisciplinary Professions. He is currently one of the Board Trustees of the Philippine Society for Quality, Inc. He was an Assessor of the Global Performance Excellence Award and the Philippine Quality Challenge. He appeared in local and international conferences either as a Resource Speaker or a Judge. He was also a scholar of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT). He finished BS in Electronics Technology-Engineering, MBA, and Doctor in Business Administration and he took various courses on project management, design thinking, and data science. Marc is the Founder and Managing Director of INNOVEO Consulting. He is an experienced Lean Six Sigma practitioner with over 20 years of experience in Lean Six Sigma deployment, implementation, training, mentoring and coaching. He held various positions in Innovation, Process Improvement, Quality Management, and Project Management in Business Process Outsourcing, Banking and Financial Services, and Semiconductor Manufacturing industries. Marc is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and is an IASSC (International Association for Lean Six Sigma Certification) Accredited Training Associate™. He earned his Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from Arizona State University and his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Management certification from the University of California, Irvine. He also completed Mastering Design Thinking at the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Marc received his MBA from the Asian Institute of Management and has a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of the Philippines. Marc was previously the General Manager and Head of Process Excellence at Cognizant, Vice-President and Head of Process Improvement at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Senior Process Engineering Manager at Dell International Services Philippines. Genny Omboy - Continuous Improvement Coordinator | TMX Philippines Inc.
TMX Philippines Inc. manufactures basic quartz analogue and digital watches in Cebu Philippines starting from 1979. The continuous improvement movement of TMX Philippines Inc. started with the introduction of Quality Circles and in 2005 the organization officially named it as Timex Continuous Improvement Program. Timex began the Lean Six Sigma journey in 2008 focusing on the application of Lean. There are 129 Yellow Belts and 103 Green Belts Trained with over 360+ projects – delivering cost savings and reducing defects. This presents an overview of how Minitab is used in Timex Philippines Inc. to provide supporting data and statistical analysis, which allow stakeholders to make data-driven decisions that drive quality while improving processes. This presentation will also show the significant achievements, struggles and learnings of the project teams in the project making process.

Genny began her Timex career as an Industrial Engineer 7 years ago. She works in coordination with planners, manufacturing supervisors, process engineers, QC engineers and senior management to support Timex Continuous Improvement Program. Genny earned her Six Sigma Black Belt this year. As a Continuous Improvement Coordinator, she is responsible for promoting and facilitating project teams in applying Lean Six Sigma to problem-solving and carry out opportunities within the organization.

Rona is a child development practitioner who has been serving with Compassion International, a global child sponsorship organization whose mission is to release children from poverty in Jesus’s name. In the Philippines, Compassion is working with 383 church partners which assist more than 95,000 children living in poor communities. For the past 15 years, Rona has been involved in designing and implementing holistic child development programs and interventions. He is the Managing Consultant of Six Sigma PH. In 2009, he placed 10th in the 1st Industrial Engineering Board Examinations in the Philippines. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering, postgraduate Management program from De La Salle University, and an MBA at the University of Bradford School of Management in the UK.
