Hypothesis Test: Continuous Data

  • Evaluate the difference between a population mean and a target value 
  • Test for a difference between two population means using a 2-sample t-test 
  • Test for a difference between paired observations using a paired t-test

MODULE 3

Hypothesis Test: Attribute Data

  • Determine the appropriate sample size for an analysis 
  • Test for a difference using Proportion tests 
  • Determine whether two categorical variables are associated



MODULE 4

Analysis of Variance

  • Assess the power of an analysis of variance 
  • Compare group variances using a variance test 
  • Compare means for samples collected at different levels using a general linear model 
  • Perform ANOVA with more than one factor 
  • Interpret interaction plots and multiple comparisons

Correlation and Simple Regression

  • Measure the degree of linear association between 2 or more variables using correlation

  • Perform regression analysis with more than one predictor

Dennis Corbin joined Minitab in 2017 and is based in the Chicago office. As a Senior Analytics Consultant, he helps businesses develop competent statistical analyses to implement meaningful changes and achieve company goals. With five years of experience teaching statistical software at Northern Illinois University, Dennis brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to his training sessions.

He holds a BS in Sociology and an MS in Applied Statistics and Probability. Outside of work, Dennis volunteers at local organizations and enjoys cycling around Chicago.
